Women’s Gymnastics


Ulladulla gymnastics currently offers women’s competitive gymnastics using the national and state based program for levels 1-6. The four areas we focus on are:


This shows off the gymnast’s athletic qualities, as the movement is performed after a run up of about 20 metres. The gymnast must put both hands on the horse. As far as marking is concerned, the judges will evaluate the complexity of the movement, the position of the body, and the landing, which must be perfect.

Uneven Bars

These are by far the most spectacular apparatus of the competition. Imagine the strength, the precision, the rhythm, the concentration and the courage that these girls need to perform their exercises with such simplicity. The gymnast moves from one bar to the other, alternating grip changes, releases and re-grasps, saltos and changes of direction with circular swings.


The Beam has a certain magic about it. many people wonder how the gymnasts manage to perform on an apparatus where balance, acrobatic sequences with or without flight elements, gymnastic jumps and turns all play a role. It is an exercise not only of flexibility, but also of concentration, rhythm and expression.


They fly, do pirouettes, touch the floor and then leap high again into the air. This exercise is the public’s favourite and they are ready to clap as soon as the music begins. Many gymnasts will tell you that they have had their greatest ovations when performing floor exercises to music. The floor is the area where a gymnast can fully express all her grace, her personality, and her technique, combining acrobatics, gymnastics and dance

Trampoline Sports is a new area in gymnastics which is a safe and fun sport that will have your child flying. It is the perfect sport to teach your child safe and developmentally sound aerial skills, whilst also developing coordination and body awareness.

Trampoline Sports can help develop confident body movement, both on and off the ground, build strength and prepare the body for the challenges in life, challenge the mind and body to reach new goals and develop posture and agility, including the ability to land safely.

Students will have the opportunity to work on the big trampoline, single mini-trampoline, double mini-trampoline and on the tumbling tramp. Ulladulla Gymnastics offers classes for fun, performance and competition.

The Trampoline classes will allow the students to develop skills in all areas of Trampoline Sports, beginning with learning a safe landing and leading up to saltos and other skills that the student is ready for.

Students are given the opportunity to perform and to compete in the sport at a regional or state level.

Times & Fees

Junior tramp (level 1-2) fees may be paid by the week. Term fees are required for levels tramp and are to be paid by week 4. If there are any difficulties with payment, please discuss directly with the coach.

Recreational Gymnastics

This class is an introductory movement based program for girls and boys aged from 4 to 7 years who are interested in participating in a fun, recreational gymnastics class utilising a variety of gymnastics equipment and developing general fitness and co-ordination. The 1 hour classes use a variety of equipment in the gym. This class focuses on basic movement skills and developing confidence using the equipment.

Parent are encouraged to leave their children with the coaches, which can help foster independence and social skills while working in a group. Parents and friends are asked to participate by joining us for the end of year performance.

Recreational Gymnastics fees may be paid by the week or the term. Term fees are to be paid by week 4. If there are any difficulties with payment, please discuss directly with the coach.

Boys Gymnastics

Boys Gymnastics is the perfect sport to teach your son focus and self-discipline. The boys learn skills that can assist with their learning and concentration. It builds strength and prepares the body for the challenges in life,enhancing co-ordination and agility, allowing the body to move like lightning. Develops posture and confident body movement, including the ability to land safely.

This class is for boys aged from 6 to 13 years who are interested in developing their gymnastics skills, flexibility, strength and general fitness. The boys use the traditional mens equipment—floor, vault, high bar, parallel bars, rings and pommel, plus trampolines, ropes and the foam pit. Classes run for two hours.

Kindy Gym

Educational research tells us that children learn best through exploring and discovering their abilities through physical activity. Gymnastics Australia’s Kindergym program ensures children can experience a wide range of movement activities and be encouraged to think, create, construct and solve problems with their own bodies.

An Accredited Kindergym Australia Leader guides each program, ensuring that the equipment set-ups are safe, stimulating and provide endless movement opportunities for your child to play and learn.

Kindergym Australia programs also assist in your child’s development, co-ordination and self-esteem. It promotes the child as the key focal point and involves active participation of the child’s mother, father or carer.
